"The original intention was that Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love would be a parody of punk rock... Just two chords - I thought it was very silly! But the final version of the song didn't sound like punk at all... It was something very sincere and nice..." said Eddie in an interview. - Eddie Van Halen said in an interview.
"And then I doubled the solo section with an electric sitar. And guess what? I would never have guessed it was an electric sitar myself! It sounded more like a humming guitar! It's really weird..."
According to the author himself, "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" was written in just one day, in the basement of David Lee Roth's parents' house! By the way: the singer's house was often used as a rehearsal space....
