Kenneth's speech Copeland on COVID-19 in heavy metal style: arranged by Andre Antunes
Содержание
American TV evangelist Kenneth Copeland gave a fiery speech to COVID-19, demanding that the world stop being destroyed by Satan's will. The pastor's expression so inspired the audience that soon the internet was filled with creative work based on his speech. Guitarist Andre Antunes turned Kenneth Copeland's sermon on COVID-19 into heavy metal, garnering hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube in a matter of days. Now enthusiastic listeners want to see a musical collective founded by Antunes and Copeland.
Copeland's performance
The sermon took place at the beginning of spring and went viral all over the Internet. This is not the pastor's first such appearance - he has already fought against the world's evil and become a hero of memes. Copeland has his own show called "The Triumphant Voice of the Believer." As the covers created for his performances show, the pastor's voice is really outstanding. In addition, in 1957, his song "Pledge of Love" even entered the Top 40 of Billboard magazine.
Copeland is now known primarily as one of the wealthiest television evangelists in the United States. The attitude towards him is mixed, with many pointing out that his impressive income is illegally obtained. The pastor himself responds that his financial records belong to God alone.
In Copeland's version, the main cause of the coronavirus is the evil power of Lucifer, who decided to destroy mankind. To fight the darkness, he summoned the "wind of God" and tried to "blow" the coronavirus from the territory of the United States. Despite some of the pastor's ideas about the need to abandon traditional medicine, in his emotional speech he still demanded immediate vaccination. He then vehemently denounced Satan and prophesied his loss of power. After the speech was over, Copeland announced that his audience was now cured and the virus had left the country for good. As the statistics show, his fight was not very effective.
Arranged by André Antunes
Andre Antunes is a musician and blogger from Portugal. He rose to fame in 2015 when he released a video with a cover of "Get Lucky by Daft Punk". He performed the song in the style of ten famous guitarists, from Carlos Santana to Eddie Van Halen. By 2020, the video has over six million views on YouTube.
The guitarist is known for his arrangements and covers of pop and classical works. On his channel you can find videos dedicated to classical music. Antoinez even recorded a separate cover of Russian composers, where he turned to the works of ten of them at once, creating a colourful medley.
On his channel you can also find more unusual arrangements - for example, once the musician recorded a track based on the sound of a washing machine.
At the end of November 2020, Andre Antunes noticed Copeland's speeches and was struck by how perfectly the pastor's speech fit the guitar riffs. Soon a new version was born - with heavy metal music accompaniment.
Antunes had previously written music to accompany Kenneth Copeland's speeches. The preacher's first speech, which became a heavy metal composition, was about the US election and was addressed to Joe Biden. Copeland regularly criticised the activities of the Democratic Party, and refused to acknowledge the victory of its representative in the elections. At one of his speeches he behaved extremely expressively, and his laughter, which lasted almost a minute, quickly became a meme hero and attracted the attention of musicians. This is how Antunes' track "HA HA HA HA" was born.
Antunes called the resulting video "I demand" - "I demand". This phrase is used by Copeland many times, and in terms of expression it reflects the essence of his speech.
Some time later, the guitarist revisited Copeland's sermons, and wrote the equally evocative tune "Wind of God," dedicated to that divine wind that the evangelist is extremely emotional in calling for the salvation of the United States.
It should be noted that the music turned out not only meme, but also very high quality - Andre Antunes promises to record a whole album with similar tracks in the future. Whether in jest or not - time will tell.
