This keyboard virtuoso was born on August 25, 1966 in California. Sherinian's way of playing the instrument is somewhat aggressive, so his parts fit perfectly into rock compositions. The proof is that Derek was attracted to Billy Idol and Alice Cooper. Usually the press doesn't like keyboard players very much. But Sherinian's photo repeatedly appeared on the covers of music publications. Keyboard even called the musician "the hero of the new generation.

Interestingly, Kurt learned about his Armenian roots only at forty. As a result of this revelation, the musician intensively started to learn Armenian. Besides, together with Arto Tunçboyaciyan, Yashar organized the "YashAr" project, which is a tribute to the memory of Hrant Dink, a journalist with Armenian roots, who was killed by a Turkish radical.

This rock band emerged back in 1978 in Armenian Gyumri. The band's leader Jag Barseghyan thought that it was not worth breaking away from the roots and took medieval Armenian motifs as a basis, interpreted Komitas' works in a modern way and added his own original ideas to this mixture. The result was quite original. In 1982 "Bambir" was recognized the best folk-band at the Lida International Festival in Belarus.

Confirmation of this constant tours not only in the post-Soviet space, but also in Israel, USA, Europe.

But Danny is an excellent singer and composer himself, which he proved by founding the Armenian Music Ensemble. The performance was essentially the story of the Armenian people, told through musical instruments in two hours.

Viza

This rock band, founded in 2000, is not afraid to experiment. The ancient stringed instrument oud and percussion sound very organically with traditional "rock" drums, bass and guitar. The band's melodies are clearly traced to Greco-Armenian motifs, despite the fact that the musicians are considered representatives of aggressive modern rock. In general, the music of Viza raises sensitive social topics. That's why the musicians could not pass by the above-mentioned fighter for justice Serj Tankian. He has been the producer of the band since 2009.
