Dima Bilan's performance on The Voice
The fourth season of The Voice was The Rich on talented candidates. There were many foreigners, foreign songs, and unexpected guests. Unfortunately, because of the innovation of the third season, the blind auditions were blind for all: both for the mentors and for the audience, so you can't see the performances themselves, but listen to it was interesting.
One of the most memorable of the fourth season's performances was the appearance of Dima Bilan, the mentor of the past three seasons.
This not the only case when the mentor performed as a candidate. Later, in the seventh season, Mercedes Sosa's song "Alfonsina y el mar" was performed by Pelageya, who mentored the first three seasons along with Dima Bilan, Leonid Agutin and Alexander Gradsky, who unfortunately is no longer with us.
Bilan came to the show with the song "Nocturnal Caprice" by the band Moral Code. Here's what the song sounds like in The original 1997:
If you listen to the original performance of the song, you can wonder question: "Why did Bilan choose this song? The vocalist's voice in general It doesn't look like it. to Bilan's voice, and the song itself is not like what the "golden" mentor usually sings. But in this and interest!
Bilan decided to make the task of the mentors and the audience as difficult as possible: they will in no case should not were to guess that it was Bilan. But they couldn't: the singer masterfully changed his voice and sounded almost also, like Sergei Mazaev, the vocalist of Moral Code.
No one could recognize Bilan. But everyone liked the way he sang. Polina Gagarina spent half of the performance with her hand above the button: she reached for it, but never dared to press it - the candidate's voice seemed too strange.
The other mentors didn't turn their chairs either, but that does not diminish Bilan's talent: he sang well, they couldn't recognize him, and at the end everyone was pleasantly surprised. The audience chanted:
"Well done! Well done! Well done!"
After the performance, Gradsky joked:
"When you were fifteen, you sang just like that!"
Bilan replied:
"Really? Even though I didn't have a voice mutation!"
Gradsky added:
"Yes, you were in your first year of (music) school then. I remember."
After that, Leps asked Bilan to perform something from the classics, and the audience began to ask, too. In the end Bilan gave up and started to sing.
