"Freestyler 2019": What's new in the remake of the legendary 2000s music video?

In 2000, hip-hop group Bomfunk Mc's released the track "Freestyler". The track quickly gained popularity around the world, and its music video was viewed by more than 200,000,000 YouTube users!
Today, "Freestyler" is an iconic hit of the noughties.
And now, in 2019 (after almost two decades!), a remake of the legendary music video has been published on YouTube! So what's new in it, and why did Bomfunk Mc's decide to "revive" their hit after so long? Let's talk about everything in order...

What's new in the Freestyler 2019 remake?
Bomfunk Mc's new release has literally stirred up the internet! Curiously, there might not have been a remake if it wasn't for Belgium's largest telecoms company Telenet... The clip was filmed as a viral advert for "YUGO Telenet"!
And here's a comment from the creative director:
"Why Freestyler?" It's very simple! Replacing a set-top box with an app allows you to watch, call, listen, send text messages... That is, a person can control anything and anywhere with their smartphone. This image made us think of a music video with a guy controlling everything around him with his player! All we had to do was replace his MiniDisc with a smartphone...".
And now let's note the main "innovations" of the remake!

The first thing that catches your eye is that the main character of the clip is now a young teenage girl. Like Marlo Snellman, she is still wandering around the underground with the same dreadlocks and huge headphones. Like in the 2000 clip, she controls the time, but only not with the help of Sony MiniDisc player, but with a modern smartphone.
If in the original version of the clip Marlo "makes" the people around her dance, or on the contrary - "freezes" them, then in the 2019 version everything is different. With the help of her phone, the heroine of the clip has fun controlling gravity!
Unlike the original video, which used a pseudo black-and-white film with a light filter (which allowed shades of orange to pass through), the "Freestyler" remake was shot on a regular digital camera.
Since the modern generation is unlikely to understand the old references of abnormal character, the lyrics of the song itself have been changed! Particularly attentive users noticed that there is a reference to "Game of Thrones" in the clip (one of the scenes of the clip is very reminiscent of a segment from an advert for the series)!
And of course, the ending... It also underwent a small change! As we remember, in the original the hero encounters a whole party of breakdancers, then - with a man who gave his player power, and rewinds himself.
In the remake, the heroine is also forced to rewind herself. Only at this moment, the people around her are performing very strange movements, not resembling a normal dance...
