Producer, singer and songwriter Chiiild has released a cover of "Amazon Original" to Kid Cudi's iconic hit "Day 'N' Nite".
In this version of the song, the Los Angeles-based artist reinterprets Kid Cudi's breakout hit on the Amazon Originals site in his own way. The track released as the latest song in a series from Amazon Music celebrating a new generation of black artists as part of Black History Month.
Chiiild has made a name for himself by occupying a space not usually represented by black artists in the alternative/pop music genre. Chiiild uses music to tell a story histories about diversity, questioning humanity and bringing people together through shared experiences. Drawing inspiration from music as diverse as D'Angelo, Tame Impala, Pink Floyd and Marvin Gaye, he has created a vast timeless sound that uniquely shifts genres, yet still somehow reminds you of something you've heard or felt before. His debut album, Hope for Sale, released last year on Avant Garden/4th & Broadway, was critically acclaimed, and Chiild was recently a named "Amazon Music's breakthrough artist in Canada".
Chiiiild's Amazon Original completes Amazon Music's series of brand new Amazon Originals for Black History Month. Last week, Amazon Music released a new, reinterpreted version of Mooney Long's hit song "Hrs and Hrs," featuring the singer and songwriter performing the song with full musical accompaniment. To celebrate the track's release, Amazon Music also released a never-before-seen video of Muni Long and her band performing the new version of the song on a Los Angeles rooftop.
