Curious, but at first. Mercury wasn't very fond of his own creation. At the time. Queen were already very popular, and Freddie wasn't sure if this song was good enough... In the end he decided to keep it, and it was probably the best decision he ever made (for both the band and the fans!)
"Smells Like Teen Spirit" (Nirvana)
The biggest hit Nirvana - song "Smells Like Teen Spirit" also almost didn't make it onto the Nevermind album... just Kurt Cobain thought the song was pretty damn reminiscent of the Pixies, a band he'd always admired.....

When Dylan recorded this track at 1965 year, "Like a Rolling Stone" was instantly rejected by the label... The main objection to the song was that it was not perceived as mainstream American music. The other main objection was that the song was just under six minutes long, while the average song of that era was about three minutes long. Dylan was offered to cut the track in half, but he flatly refused....
Release and early success "Like a Rolling Stone" was facilitated by an upmarket Manhattan disco club where Dylan brought his record and asked the DJ to play it. As a result, people danced to the six-minute track over and over again! Because the club was upscale, it was frequented by important people in the music industry... In the end, Dylan got exactly what he wanted: "Like a Rolling Stone" was released and not a single second was cut out of the track!
