Who is Jain? Musician success story
Everything is extraordinary in this girl - from an impressive image to a fantastic style of music! Her success confidently migrates to all corners of the world, and each new video or album is more like a work of art ... So who is this Jain? And why does it so strongly attract the attention of millions of people around the world?
Getting started…
Jeanne Louise Galis was born on February 7, 1992 in Toulouse, France. From childhood, her parents instilled in the girl a love of music: although Jeanne's mother and father were not famous artists, they played musical instruments such as the guitar and accordion simply divinely! Therefore, when the baby grew up, without a drop of doubt, she entered a music school.
The father of the family was forced to travel a lot, so young Jeanne managed to live in Dubai, Congo, Pointe-Noire ... As the singer herself later said, these trips largely shaped her musical style. Jeanne spent four years in the Congo, during which she managed to fall in love with incendiary African melodies and dances, and even learned to play the drums! After Abu Dhabi, she returned to Paris and continued her studies.
Travels and first success
During the years that Jeanne traveled to different parts of the world, she not only eagerly absorbed new rhythms, but also learned to play musical instruments.
Jeanne wrote her first "masterpiece" at the age of 16. But, as is often the case with novice musicians, her subsequent creations confidently went to the far shelf ... As the singer herself later admitted, she was very afraid of unflattering criticism from her peers.
Fortunately, everything changed dramatically when Jeanne read one wise phrase, which in translation means “do not be proud of victory, do not regret defeat.” A quote from the ancient religion of Jainism (hence the pseudonym Jain - "Jane") helped a 16-year-old girl gain faith in herself.
Supported by French producer Mr. Flash - Jane composed her first demo tracks, which soon ended up on MySpace! A major social network did its job: the girl was noticed by influential managers and producers who were ready to sign a contract with her! MySpace also introduced Jeanne to the famous French musician Yodelice, who, in fact, helped her start a solo career!
The famous "white collar"
The stage look with the famous "white collar" is also a merit of Yodelice! "An exemplary schoolgirl in a black dress with a white collar necklace" became the alter ego of the young singer. Such an image successfully contrasts with some unreal music that she creates ... Speaking of music: many are asking a reasonable question, what kind of genre is Jane promoting? The answer to it is just as extraordinary, so extraordinary is the work of the singer ...
Musical genre
Critics call Jane the "girl band" for a reason. Her music spans a wide variety of genres, from pop and folk to hip-hop and reggae styles! The singer herself calls her direction "melting pop". Broken English is another feature in her creative chest! Jane said that such a choice was made for a reason, but under the influence of the rhythms and traditions of the countries where she traveled.
“I think that sounds great!” she said in an interview.
Achievements
With the release of the track "Come", Jane won the "Golden Single" award. Furthermore! From now on, she has become a welcome guest at various concerts and festivals!
The first album "Zanaka" was released in November 2015. The record was a resounding success for the just beginning singer: awarded as many as three times platinum status, a breakthrough in the world charts ...
Speaking about the recent victories of the singer, it is worth mentioning her single “Gloria”, released in April 2019. Rolling Stone magazine described it as "an upbeat dance track that describes the perils of fame and encourages being true to your creativity." In the summer of the same year, Jane performed her new hit, as well as the songs "Makeba" and "Heads Up" at the opening ceremony of the Women's World Cup!
Let's enjoy Jain's masterpiece clips, for each of which one could safely give out an Oscar!
