Early years...

Cola Beldy in his youth ...

Nikolai Beldy was born in May 1929, in the distant Khabarovsk Territory ... It so happened that Nikolai was left an orphan at a very early age ... Against this background, he began to stutter. For some time, Kolya grew up under the wing of his aunt, after which he ended up in a boarding school. But life in a boarding school was not what the boy dreamed of. And so, in 1943, Beldy fled to the front. The circumstances were quite good: Kolya ended up in Vladivostok, a cabin boy in the Pacific Fleet: he had to lie about his age, otherwise they simply wouldn’t have taken him ... Beldy no longer stuttered, and during the service he surprised his comrades with a beautiful melodic voice ...

Soon, Nikolai began to sing as part of the song and dance group of the Pacific Fleet! After he entered the music school. After graduating from it, Beldy continued to serve the Motherland! But after demobilization, great opportunities opened up for him: finally, he was able to devote himself entirely and completely to music, which he managed to fall in love with so much ... At first, Nikolai combined his studies at the Saratov Conservatory with work at a factory (sometimes he worked part-time at a local drama theater). After that, he worked in the song and dance ensemble of the Voronezh Military District! But... it took him a long time to climb higher...

Career

Nikolay Beldy...
Nikolai Beldy ...

In 1957, the life of Nikolai Belda, who, by the way, was a Nanai by nationality, specifically changed: he became a laureate of the Moscow youth festival! We can rightfully say that this was his finest hour ... Beldy attracted the attention of Ekaterina Furtseva, Minister of Culture: the woman realized in an instant that such a talented representative of the northern people would become a pearl on the national stage! After that, Beldy got a job at the Mosconcert. At the beginning of the new decade, he won the All-Russian variety competition! So, for the next long, long years, Cola Beldy toured ... And not only across the expanses of the Soviet Union, but also abroad.

The repertoire of the young artist consisted, in particular, of pop compositions successfully “seasoned” with Nanai color, as well as shamanic songs that Beldy competently presented to the public in modern processing ... And how bright and colorful his live performances were ...

As a rule, Nikolai proudly went on stage in a national costume. And seeing this, the audience froze ... It seemed that everything around froze. For the Soviet Union, this was a kind of exotic! So - there is nothing surprising in the fact that every Belda show was sold out, no.

Real success...

Soon the popular artist was invited to the cinema! The debut of Nikolai was the film "Russian Souvenir". On television, Beldy was also very popular: he was a frequent guest of the Blue Light, which was due to his phenomenal performance of the Song of the Reindeer Breeder to the music of Modest Tabachnikov!

Of course, in the song piggy bank of our hero there were also national creations, such as "Khanina Ranina" - a Nanai legend about the Sun-tambourine! But one of Belda's most famous hits was the composition "My Yakutyanochka"!

Closer to the middle of the 60s, the cult composition "Naryan-Mar, my Naryan-Mar" was published. The music for it was written by Grigory Ponomarenko himself - a famous Soviet composer, accordion player! As a result, the song became the unofficial anthem of the capital of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug!

Cola Belda's popularity peaked at the beginning of the 70s! The main hits of this period are considered to be the songs “I'll take you to the tundra” and “Nature sings”!

It was Cola Beldy who popularized funny stories and anecdotes among the people about the naive inhabitants of the north, who cannot adapt in the city! So, for example, the composition “A Chukchi in the plague is waiting for dawn” gave rise to the famous anecdote about the Chukchi who arrived in the capital!

In an interview, Konstantin Bogdanov, a Russian philologist, said:

“The most surprising and remarkable thing about this man was that, despite his nationality, Beldy, with obvious pleasure, played with the already established features of the so-called Chukchi accent in public! He also popularized jokes about the Chukchi, which are well known to everyone today ... "

It is impossible not to emphasize Belda's devotion to the genre and theme of the songs he chose... Of course, like any artist, there was a period in Nikolai's life when he chose the image of a "fashionable" performer - that is, he began to perform fashionable hits! But ... it did not last long. It is worth noting that during his career Beldy visited more than 40 countries of the world, including the legendary Olympia in Paris! And the popularity of the Nanai artist in Europe was no less than in his native Soviet Union ... The mayor of Mezen, a French town, proclaimed Beldy "the golden voice of the North"!

In total, Belda had 3 marriages: his first wife was Nina Pavlovna, who was 15 years older than the groom himself! Their acquaintance took place in Saratov, in the hungry post-war period ... Together they moved to Khabarovsk, however, their marriage broke up in the mid-60s. Belda's second wife, Larisa Semyonovna, was also older than the artist, only not 15, but only 5 years. Their union was really strong: together they lived in perfect harmony for 23 years! And they would have lived even longer if Larisa had died in the late 80s ...

With his third wife, Olga, Nikolai met in 1991, in St. Petersburg. This time, the chosen one of the artist turned out to be younger, and by as much as 30 years! At the time of their meeting, the girl was only 29 ... The most amazing thing is that their acquaintance marked love at first sight! So, Nikolai Beldy made an offer to his beloved the very next day after their meeting! Yes, and her last name was the same, Beldy. There are such coincidences in life ... Soon after the wedding, the couple had a daughter, Elena, who became the only and really long-awaited child of the artist ...
