Apartment in Moscow, love for dolls and more - little-known facts about Thomas Anders

This man's name is known to everyone who has lived in 80smuch less attended a disco! Thomas Anders was the lead singer of the iconic eurodisco duo. Modern Talkingto the hits of Thomas and his colleague Dieter Bohlen rocked millions of people all over Europe and the USSR! These songs still have weight, and are considered by music lovers as memories of the days of former youth and adolescence....

It would seem: so many articles have been written about these two that they have nothing to hide! But there are always some interesting pointsthat were "poorly deployed." So: what many fans didn't know about Thomas Anders yet? We decided to highlight some of the most interesting stages of the favorite singer's life...

A fan of Russia?

Domestic audiences have always loved and continue to love the songs of Modern Talking. And being an ex-participant of this project, Thomas has repeatedly stated in his interviews that he admires Russia as much as its inhabitants do their songs with Dieter. And in 2010, the singer was seriously thinking of buying himself a apartments in the capital of our country! But "the first pancake", as they say. For the first time, a star of the 80s was "ripped off" for money:

"I had to pull up all my connections to get my money back..."

For this reason, Thomas was hesitant to buy for a long time, looking at both options and people. All the more so because he had requirements high: a spacious apartment of at least 100 squares, with a beautiful view from the window - including in the bathroom! And all this beauty must be located on Patriarch's PondsAnders found a special charm in them... Thomas himself claimed that he was ready to spend a lot of money, and talked about the sum of millions of dollars! And the design side of the issue was to be handled by his current wife Claudia Hesswho, according to the star, has "great taste."

"I often visit Russia, and I like it here. I have made friends here in show business, favorite places and so on. It's like a second home for me. Having my own place in Russia is very convenient - I can stay in my own apartment, not in a hotel, I can invite my friends over... At the very least, it's a good financial investment, because real estate in Moscow is getting more expensive every year. For the price that I can buy an apartment in the center of the capital from you, I can buy several luxury houses in Germany!"

"A son - and a pity."

Thomas (aka. Bernd Weidung - real name) was born as the second child in the family. He has an older brother, Achim, who gave his mother constant headaches: Achim was always a very mobile, active and mischievous child! But the mother, Helga, dreamed of a daughter - to do her hair and manners... But her second child was... Thomas. Or rather, Bernd - he became Thomas later.

Unlike his brother, Thomas was quiet and studious a boy. He also had a very feminine face as a child - a few times passersby even mistook him for one with a girl! Another strange fact that many magazines spread (but there is no proof of it) is Anders' childhood love for... Barbie dolls. Perhaps this rumor appeared on the background of his gentle appearance and glamorous style, or maybe because both of the singer's wives are blond and blue-eyed beauties.

Thomas himself evaded the question, emphasizing that his true love is... food and cooking. According to the musician, he has a whole collection of cookbooks at home, which are the basis for his "experiments in the kitchen". Thomas prefers Asian and Russian cuisine!

"When I'm in Moscow, I make sure to order pancakes and solyanka!"

Psychic hobbies

Thomas's marriage to Nora is legendary to this day. But at least one of them is absolutely true. And that is. psychic pursuits And it all started with Nora: she was a rather peculiar lady - she believed in mysticism and talked to psychics! Magicians, candles, antique mirrors and the like were commonplace in her and Thomas's house. Anders himself considered it all "nonsense." - to a certain point.

When Modern Talking broke upThomas was in a kind of moral limbo. He was worried, afraid to crash as an artist, did not know where to start... And then Nora suggested her husband to go to a session with a psychic. The singer did not agree for a long time, but realizing that he had nothing to lose in such a state, he went. And now it is one of his favorite topics of conversation.

"He (the psychic) told me that I had a successful solo career ahead of me! It helped me to square my shoulders, to feel confident... Today, for me, it's all in the past. The only thing I probably believe in is life after death..."

Relationships are a thing of the past Thomas and Nora - though not definitively. Even though the two do not interact in any way, Anders still keeps the things given to him by his first wife....

A present from Jackson

And this fact surprised many - even the most devoted fans of Anders! It turns out that the German star did not just admire the creativity of the pop king - she knew him personally! Whether it was friendship - it is difficult to say. But Jackson even gave Thomas his iconic hat from the music video. "Smooth Criminal." with a personal signature!

Thomas told about all this in his interview to Turkish TV. According to the artist, the hat-gift he carefully keeps in his studio. By the way: in the 80's the singer toured with the song "We Are The World'" on the set list.
