History of the song Splin - Fellini (2001)
Содержание
In 2001, the group "Splin" started co-operation with Sony Music. The song "Fellini" was also performed during this period. The composition was not included in the soon released album "25th Frame". It was added as a bonus soundtrack. However, "Fellini" formed the basis of the famous tour of Spleen and Bi-2, which resulted in the release of a live album by these groups and the band Thomas.
"Fellini" was written by Vasilyev on the basis of one of his old songs - "We are strangers here", composed by Alexander in the army. In particular, the lines about "a letter in an empty envelope" were taken from it. But this is not what made it so exciting for the public.
From the very first days of sounding the listeners were divided into two camps. Some considered the track to be a generational anthem, while others considered "Fellini" to be a narcotic delirium. The listeners considered the phrase "the heroine is on heroin" as a reference to illegal substances. Although Vasilyeu himself claimed that the song contains the words "hero and heroine", but not the name of one of the opium derivatives.Nevertheless, Aliaksandr Lukashenka personally ordered to ban the song in Belarus as a propaganda of narcotic substances.
Rock music fans immediately noticed the similarity between "Fellini" and Marilyn Manson's Sweet Dreams. Vasiliev did not comment on this in any way.
But his story about how a representative of a popular publication called and persistently tried to find out the meaning of the track's title is known. The journalist complained that there was no mention of the word "Fellini" in any dictionary.
Clip
The fans liked the song so much that at one of the Fellini Tour performances the musicians had to perform it six times. Another proof of its popularity is the 600,000 copies of the single sold.
At first, Splin performed "Fellini" on their own. But when they decided to shoot a music video, they invited the band Bi-2 to take part in the video. In the video the track already sounds in a joint version. The listeners liked this version more. The clip was shot in three days.
It was a recording of a staged boxing fight between Lyova B-2 and Vasilyev, in which, according to the script, the heroes knock each other out. However, the emotions on the set, apparently, were off the scale, as Lyova "missed" a tangible punch in the jaw, and Alexander's ears were stained with paint from Lyova's gloves. The soloist of "Bi-2" didn't stay in debt either.
What was the great director's unmade film that Vasiliev was referring to
As for "Federico Fellini's unfilmed film", perhaps Vasiliev was referring to the great director's long-standing idea. The latter had met the writer Carlos Castaneda more than once. The classic of world cinema nurtured the idea to shoot a picture based on "Teachings of Don Juan" - the first book of Castaneda. Fellini went to Mexico and on that trip even began to write the script and came up with the title of the film - "Journey to Tulum".
However, this idea was not realised. The fact is that one of the director's assistants published a book after that journey. Fellini thought that this novel, called "Yucatan", reveals the idea of the future film. In addition, Federico began to have money problems, he also saw a few more ominous omens and decided not to film "Journey to Tulum".
