Who is Justin, and how the audience reacted to his rendition of "Lovely"
"Lovely." - famous lyrical hit Billy Eilish и Khalidawith which the young singer conquered the top of the charts in 2018! The song perfectly fits into the soundtrack of the TV series "13 Reasons Why."and became a smash hit... And now, it's inspired a 13-year-old named Justin to fight his complexes: a guy took to the stage of a Belgian show. "The Voice.Kids." and sang a ballad so heartfelt and beautiful that the jury could not resist this charm... They simply had no choice! So, the insecure boy made the coaches fight for the right to take him into their team.
Justin has successfully passed the first blind auditions:
"I chose the songs 'Someone You Loved' by Lewis Capaldi and 'Can't Help Falling In Love' by Elvis Presley. It went well and I got the chance to go to a second audition where I performed 'Lovely' by Billie Eilish," says the young singer.
As a result Justin won the hearts of the audience and jury members, who after the performance argued for a long time about which team he should join. The boy definitely impressed the coaches, even though he didn't expect it at all. Every time someone pressed a button and turned to him, he smiled and looked quite surprised. By the end of the show, all the judges turned round and gave him a standing ovation! So, 13-year-old the kid ended up in the semi-finals:
"This is really weird and unexpected!" he commented on his emotions. "Usually, I prefer to sing alone in my room when no one can hear..."
But Justin's mother. decided that the time had come to introduce her son's talent to the world: it was she who enrolled the boy to try out for the The Voice Kids. And for good reason!
"Sometimes I can hear him singing in his room. Although he tries to hide it - he's too sensitive, and he's afraid that others won't hear him. But after his 13th birthday party, I was determined: at the birthday party we bowled and then sang karaoke. And my God, I was amazed at how beautiful his voice was! It's really beautiful..."
So, his mum signed Justin up for auditions and he didn't let her down! Although he did tell her that he keeps his singing a secret because he finds it "embarrassing.":
"I decided to perform 'Lovely' because as I think this song is about embarrassment. And because of that, it's very close to me..."
It also turns out that Justin likes to play the piano:
"I can't accompany myself on the piano yet - it's still too difficult for me. But I'm learning more and more every day! That's why I love being on The Voice Kids! Here I can gain experience and also make friends. I don't necessarily have to win, because I certainly wish that for the other candidates as well. But of course, it would be nice!"
Justin's life has changed dramatically through his participation in the project. That's partly because his audition has already been viewed over 50 million once on YouTube! However, the young idol's attention is focused on something else:
"Popularity is great! But school comes first for me."
