Charlotte released the last track with the symbolic name "Farewell Waltz". Why does a successful project cease to exist?
"Farewell Waltz" is a new, and, apparently, the final song released as part of the Charlotte project. The track was recorded by Eduard (real name of the singer) together with beatmakers-producers PLUMLI & SPOTI. He also adorned the album, which received a short but catchy name "SUPER" ... But before discussing the record, as well as the reason for the collapse of the project, we suggest getting to know Charlotte himself a little closer ...
Who is Charlotte?
Let's start with the fact that the real name of our hero is Eduard Valerievich Charlotte. The guy was born in February 1998, in the city of Samara. The childhood of the future musician proceeded in an incomplete family with his twin brother Vitaly. Parents divorced when the boys were five years old ... The care of raising two twins fell on the shoulders of their father, Valery Vladimirovich. He also insisted that Edward enter a music school. By the way: even at a tender age, the boy easily mastered solfeggio and playing various musical instruments.
Edward began composing music as a teenager. The guy took his first steps in the music business as a member of the Captain Korkin group, where he was a keyboardist. In parallel, he formed his own band, The Way of Pioneers.
Many viewers know the guy from the show "Songs" on TNT. In 2019, "Charlot" (the stage name of the star) released the album "Forever Young", which collected more than two million streams! The work "Hellborn" that followed it scored the first 700,000 streams in just a few weeks ...
It would seem that the guy is just starting to succeed! Gradually comes success, quality, fame ... And why stop all this now? Well ... there are reasons for that, which Charlotte told reporters about ...
News about the termination of the Charlotte project: Surprises and secrets ...
As soon as Charlotte announced concerts in Moscow and St. Petersburg, his fans were taken aback with happiness! But as it turned out - very early ... According to the artist himself, these two concerts will be the last in the history of the Charlotte project - which suddenly ceases to exist ... Edward made such sad news during a concert in the capital, held at the end of September 2020 ... To word: the premiere of his new song took place there.
“Project Charlotte is no more. “Farewell Waltz” will be the last release of the project…”
Of course, this statement upset the artist's fans ... However, according to Eduard himself, he does not intend to completely abandon his musical career! So ... it's too early to hang up your nose, as they say!
“Yes, I plan to finish the project ... But Charlotte is far from my last undertaking. Rest assured, you will still hear my music, only under a different name…”
Under what exactly? Edward hasn't said yet. However, the fact that he will continue to write music is already inspiring!
The reason for the collapse of "Charlotte"
We will not argue, nor deny that the possible reason for the termination of the Charlotte project is the conflict between the musician and the Sony Music Entertainment Russia label. It all started back in the summer of 2020, when, on the eve of the release of the Hell-Born album, Eduard said that the label limits his creative development... And not only limits, but, according to the artist, deceives and interferes with the release... As it turned out, to release the record "Charlotte" was possible only thanks to the publicity and support of the fans. Shortly after that, Eduard deleted all his old posts on social networks, leaving access to a couple of albums and individual singles released in collaboration with other artists ...
“I don’t go back on my words — the label really slowed me down. Now I want to believe that my experience will benefit other aspiring artists! Perhaps he will tell them how to act in such a situation ... And the faithful listeners would like to say: do not be afraid to fight for music! You, in many ways, determine the future fate of the artist ... I hope that someday the Russian music industry will become honest. Stop dishonoring Russian culture…”
As for the Sony Music Entertainment themselves, so far they have not commented on the situation. It is only known that at the moment the proceedings between the label and the musician are ongoing ...
“As soon as everything gets better, I will definitely return to music,” Charlotte said decisively.
The musician also spoke about the creative break on the YouTube show "Viska". Eduard said that in the near future he has things to do that will be much more important than music ... He also promised the fans a few surprises, and said that he would no longer give interviews on this topic:
“There are things more global than flashing your teeth on camera…”
Apparently, Eduard has already presented the first three surprises: the video for the song "Derevenka", followed by the video for the song "Tomorrow there will be no love", and ... the long-awaited album "SUPER"!
About the album "SUPER"
SUPER is the last (at least for now) album released under the name Charlotte. The disc includes tracks recorded with the participation of PLUMLY & SPOTY - novice beatmakers-producers! Will the work allow them to come out of the shadows and loudly declare themselves? Only time will tell... As for the album, everyone will find something to their liking here: from dance hit tracks to gentle lyrics with hints of romanticism... A versatile record for true music lovers!
The main single from the album was the song "Farewell Waltz". The lyrics of the track pursue the theme of loneliness and unrequited love... All this accompanies the clip in black and white, shot as if on a very old film... The plot is simple: longing for a bygone youth, childhood memories and, of course, the story of that same love...
By the way: in addition to "Charlotte", PLUMLY & SPOTY collaborated with such popular performers of the modern scene as THRILL PILL and MORGENSHTERN (during the recording of the album "Legendary Dust").
