The 2020 movie "The Comeback Trail" is rich in bright and memorable soundtracks, but more on that later... First about the cast... The film stars: Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, Tommy Lee Jones, Emile Hirsch and Zach Braff.

Now a little about the plot... It all starts with Robert De Niro as Hollywood producer Max Barber, who vows to return money to mob boss Reggie Fontaine (Morgan Freeman). Zach Braff is introduced as Barber's hapless assistant, Dr. Walter Creason. A terrible accident with a famous actor on the set gave Barber a brilliant idea: to organize the production of a fictitious film, insure the main actor for a huge sum, kill the actor in a terrible “accident” and receive the insurance sum.

Despite Crison's misgivings, Barber continues his assassination plan, hiring a film crew, an aspiring director, and casting the tormented Duke of Montana (played by Tommy Lee Jones) in the lead role of the real-life murder victim. Jones does what he does best, imbuing the willfully ludicrous character with his signature style of curmudgeonly gruffness that adds depth to the caricature.

Based on the original film by Harry Hurwitz, The Comeback Trail contains a screenplay by George Gallo and Josh Posner and is directed by George Gallo. The film was produced by Philip Kim, Patrick Hibler, Joy Sirott Hurwitz, Julie Lott Gallo, Richard Salvatore and David E. Ornston and executive produced by Elizabeth Costa de Beauregard and Patrick Muldoon. The film was released on November 19, 2020.
