This year's super hit from the British quartet. went up to number one on the Billboard Global 200 chart and held steady at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the second week in a row.
The track also recently topped the Top 40 and Hot AC Radio charts, a first for the band in their career. Impressively, "Heat Waves", written and produced by Dave Bailey, led Top 40 chart. Prior to that, "Heat Waves" reached No. 1 on the Spotify Global Singles Top 50 chart at the end of January. Notably, no UK band had previously been able to reach of this award. The song also reached number one on Spotify's Top Hits Playlist, where it has been present for over a year.
The band's success on Global Singles came just weeks after "Heat Waves" climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, breaking another record for the most prolonged climbing into the top 5 in Hot 100 history in 51 weeks. The track also topped the Spotify US Top 50 chart and surpassed 1 billion copies.
With the global success of "Heat Waves" and their album "Dreamland," Glass Animals can arguably claim to be the biggest rock band in the world. The band is gearing up for a busy spring with a new "Dreamland Tour" across the US, which kicks off this week in Phoenix on 3 March.
