There (1999) - Micah & Jumanji & Inna Still

Having left this world untimely, Mikhey emphasized more than once that in his work he always lacked the very melody that always attracted him ... As a result, he found it in the composition “There” ...

The history of the song "There" (Mikhey and Jumanji & Inna Still)

"There" is a song by Russian rapper Mikhey and his band Jumanji, recorded with the participation of Inna Still, a notorious singer and songwriter. The composition was released in 1999 as part of the album "Bitch Love". Pleasant to listen to, it is sustained in a relaxing reggae style... Let's recall the history of its creation, and also talk about the contribution of Inna Still, which, for some reason, was hardly noted at the end of the 90s...

History of creation

As mentioned above, the song "Tuda" is generously saturated with Jamaican reggae motifs ... It's no secret that in the expanses of the post-Soviet space there were few groups or musicians developing specifically in this genre. However, it was precisely this freedom-loving style that inspired Mikhey and Jumanji, and soon included Inna Still in their work! Inna met Mikhey back at Gala Records, during his work in the Bad Balance group.

Whether this is a real story, or just an attractive legend that increases interest in the work, but according to Inna Still, she once had a dream that completely conveys the atmosphere of the future video ... At the same time, someone called the singer: “Still, Still!” By the way: Inna herself did not immediately understand that the message was addressed to her ...

And so, soon they and Mikhey wrote this amazingly bright and beautiful song, which quickly found a response in the hearts of the listeners ... Of course, the video played an important role in popularizing the track. Today, when the name of Inna Still is widely known, it may seem strange ... However, when the video was first broadcast, no one recognized the charming girl! Many have decided that the blonde beauty is nothing more than a minor character for the entourage. Furthermore! At first, she was not even in the credits ... Nevertheless, it was Inna who was the author of the soulful song! And, perhaps, it is thanks to her influence that this song is difficult to classify as a rap genre. It's something different, something more airy... The lyrics of the song are addressed to a loved one who died in a car accident. As you might guess, the song was dedicated to Inna's husband, who crashed in a car ... When the performer Mikhey died, the song took on a more dramatic tone ...

“There, where they weren’t expected… There, where sorrows… There, where they forgot… There, nowhere, nowhere…”

A little about Inna Still...

Inna Still is not just a musician, of whom there are now thousands, if not millions ... She is a brilliant person, from whose hands more than one hit came out! However, when she was under the wing of Gala Records, the label considered the girl’s really beautiful songs not hit enough ... Actually, this often happens to creative people: sometimes people who are deprived of musical taste are unable to appreciate their work. And so, with the release of the song "There", recorded together with Mikhey, they began to pay attention to the girl.

The singer was born in Voronezh. Love for music woke up in Inna at an early age ... At the age of 17, the girl wrote her first song, after which she went to the capital! Inna was aimed at success! Soon the girl ended up in a music company with which she signed a contract. But there was no success ... Then Inna decided to devote herself to building a solo career. It is known that in parallel, Inna collaborated with popular bands and musicians, created high-quality arrangements ...

Later, Inna Still moved to Europe, where she worked on musical projects for a long time (also for films). Returning to her homeland, the woman continued to give concerts. Today they talk about her as a legend of the 90s, a talented musician and author of soulful songs...

Album "Bitch Love"

As mentioned above, the composition "There" was released as part of the album "Bitch Love", recorded by Mikhey together with his band Jumanji. The album was released in May 1999 by REAL Records. The album quickly gained popularity among listeners! The main hits from him were the compositions - “Bitch Love”, “There” and “Mom”. Micah himself was recognized as the best performer of the year ... By the way: the song "Road to the Sea" was not Micah's creation. It was just a cover of a composition by Yuri Antonov. The artist later said:

“I recorded this song with the permission of Yuri Mikhailovich. However, he did not warn us that the words of this song did not belong to him, but to Leonid Fadeev ... Antonov himself wrote only music. To say we were shocked when we found out about this is an understatement. But it was too late to correct something... The batch of CDs had already gone on sale. On the remaining part, we have correctly indicated everything. I don't think anyone was offended! In general, I really like Antonov's music. It evokes pleasant nostalgia for the beloved 70s ... "

An interesting fact, but at first Antonov rejected Micah's proposal. But after listening to the songs of the group, he quickly changed his mind ... As a result, the only album released during the life of Mikhey turned out to be so chic that it was even named one of the best of the outgoing decade!

Conclusion…

Having left this world untimely, Mikhey emphasized more than once that in his work he always lacked the very melody that always attracted him ... As a result, he found it in the composition “There”. This song was performed in 1999 at the Invasion-1999 festival. Subsequently, it became a real hit: it was played on all radio stations, and the album itself, on which it was released, was instantly sold out from store shelves! And today, several decades later, this song is very popular!
