We talk about the legendary groups, whose members actually can not stand each other
The history of music knows a lot legendary rock bandswho have become icons, idols of millions. However, what is there in them, why their participants cannot stand each other?
In fact, being together from year to year is very tiring: you tour together, perform, record in the studio. Also, it is quite possible that over time, people's relationships deteriorate, as money changes them (people). Yes, unfortunately this is also a fairly common practice. Whatever the case, some of the world's most popular rock bands absolutely can't stand each other - and for many of them, that animosity fuels their music! Everyone knows that the legendary band "Fleetwood Mac. There were moments of love and hate, right? But at the same time they released a mega-successful album Rumors – more 40 million copies all over the world.
Some bands managed to keep the relationship, while others never played a single note after the breakup. But absolutely every band on our list has somehow managed to make great music while hating each other!
The Beatles
Even though people blame Yoko Ono in the breakup of the group, she is hardly to blame for this. No matter how ridiculous it may sound, but in their worst period, the participants The Beatles demonstrated one of their best results - "White Album"! During the recording of the record, the musicians constantly exchanged unpleasant barbs. starr left the line-up for a short time after being teased by the other members of the band, and Yoko Ono's appearance in the studio did not please anyone except Lennon.
The band was in a bad mood during rehearsals for what would become "Let It Be" and "Abbey Road.". McCartney encouraged the rest of the members to write as much as possible. Producer George Martin recalled:
“Paul would be too haughty, which the other guys didn't like. But it was the only way to get together."
George Harrison really left the band during those sessions. He did return shortly thereafter, but the band was unable to continue and disbanded completely before their last two albums were released.
Fleetwood Mac
Of all the bands that hate each other Fleetwood Mac - the only one who managed to turn her dislike into a good monetary gain! During the recording of the album Rumors between participants (Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie and Mick Fleetwood) there was a real "Santa Barbara"! However, the four managed to gather their strength and write hit after hit.
As a result, the album sold 40 million copies worldwide - one of the highest numbers in the history of recording.
The Eagles
The Eagles - the best rock band in Southern California in history! But for every hit they hit, there is a portion of discontent or disagreement.
The tense situation came to a head in 1980 at a concert in Long Beach, California, when the guitarist Don Felder, who lasted the longest in the group, said Glenn Fry right on stage: "Three more songs and I'll nail you, buddy." After that, the group ceased to exist.
The Beach Boys
"Beach Boys" may look like the most gentle and friendly musical group in history. However, no matter how mesmerizing their vocal melodies are, the family group, as practice shows, always falls apart. The rivalry at the center of the group was between Brian Wilson and Mike Love. And if Wilson was the soul of the team, then Love was a perpetual motion machine, kept the group motivated and never allowed its members to slow down.
After Wilson's first memoirs, Love sued him for defamation, but his lawsuits against Wilson did not end there. It is also worth noting that Love has a strong dislike for Dennis Wilsonwho not only slept with his then-wife Susanna, but also from which his 17-year-old daughter became pregnant Sean Marie.
Van Halen
Conflicts in Van Halen erupted from the very beginning of their career with David Lee Roth. The singer felt that the group's performances should be exciting and image-based, while the other members were less than pleased with the vocalist's flamboyant sensibility. Roth's pursuit of a breathtaking image led to a photo shoot that marked the beginning of the end for this version of the band. Before the release of the album "Women and Children First" in 1980, Roth hired photographer Helmut Newton to take his cover photo - without the rest of the cast.
Needless to say, the group was outraged?
The Police
The Police may seem like a quiet new wave band, but while they have been playing together for 1970s and 1980s years, they were not at all relaxed. The band was more interested in jazz and classical than pop post-punk. The Police brought a mercantile style to the English punk scene that they soon left behind.
Although they had a string of hit singles that are still a mainstay of older radio stations, the band was almost always on some sort of suspense. Sting and drummer Stuart Copeland once they had such a big fight that Sting had a broken rib! There is also a story about how Sting yelled at guitarist Andy Summers so much that everyone in the room turned white.
Guns N' Roses
This may surprise you, but Guns N' Roses didn't really get along. In addition to the use of substances, there were two very strong personalities in the group, which may already be the beginning of the end. Conflicts between Slash and Axl Rose happened quite often. However, according to their former manager, Slash's work with Michael Jackson.
Doug Goldstein recounted how Slash's performance at the King of Pop concert took Rose to the extreme:
"I asked Slash, 'How much are you getting for this?' and he said, 'I'll just get a big screen TV!' When Axl found out that Slash would play with Michael Jackson for "big screen TV", he was devastated... And then he was beside himself!"
Ramones
Ramonesmay have presented themselves as a united front in leather jackets, but in reality they were far apart. Backstage, the four members of the band couldn't stand each other. While Joey Ramone wanted to sing pop songs at breakneck speed, their guitarist Johnny was mainly concerned with the group's business, and they barely spoke to each other for most of the project's existence.
Big problems began when Johnny became interested in assault. Group manager Danny Fields said:
“He could punch Dee Dee in the face. It was always after the show, something like, "You did B major when you should have played C minor." I was at the dressing room. You could hear the glass breaking…”
But Johnny went overboard when the band was recording the album. "End of the Century". Joey brought his girlfriend to California with the band and that was his biggest mistake. In just a few months Johnny Ramon convinced her to leave the singer and stay with him. They got married a few years later, and Joey never forgave Johnny.
Kiss
At the heart of the dispute between the participants Kiss lies that only two of the participants - Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley — felt they were truly committed to the cause. They considered Frehley and Criss to be the "weakest link".
However, one of the biggest hurdles between the two sides of the group was that Frehley and Criss liked to have fun while the other two members didn't.
“Life doesn’t give you three chances. You only have one chance. But Ace and Peter got three chances each! They didn't carry their load. Do not drive a car with two flat tires. It's your responsibility to change the damn tires so the whole car doesn't stop! Nothing personal,” Gene Simmons once said.
Oasis
Noel and Liam Gallagher had been at odds with each other since childhood, but it wasn't until they formed one of the most successful bands of the '90s that the brothers' rivalry escalated into a full blown feud. When the band first toured America in 1994 year, they played one of the worst sets of their careers. Liam hit Noel with a tambourine, Noel left the next day and after some thought, he nevertheless returned to the group.
Liam once allegedly asked if Noel was really the father of his eldest daughter. As a result, Noel left the band and returned only for the sake of the UK tour, but said that Liam never apologized. In 2009, Noel left the group forever, thus ending the story Oasis.
