Top of the best compositions by "pioneering electronic musician" Jean-Michel Jarre according to Fuzz Music magazine
Table of Contents
Jean-Michel Jarre is rightfully recognised as one of the pioneers of electronic music. A genius at his craft, Jarre has built a mind-boggling career, releasing dozens of albums and a sea of hits! He, one of the first Western pop idols, managed to break through into the PRC and for "iron curtain" - some of his tracks were actively played on Soviet radio and television! They even appeared on a flexible record.
Of course, "cosmic" motifs are in taste far beyond not everyone. Still, some people find this kind of work monotonous, monotonous, not interesting enough - . "not your own." to put it simply. But a lot of people, even hardcore rockers, love this kind of synthesiser "trill". These tracks perfectly relax, lead to interesting thoughts, philosophical reflections - and in the most global sense of the word. And if the composition is accompanied by a fascinating video sequence with vivid images and messages - it's just worth it! When watching such a clip, you can probably feel the entire evolution of the universe! So heartfelt, intellectual, colourful.....
The best part is that Jarre's tracks are very often accompanied by these kind of "intellectual clips". This makes listening to them even more enjoyable - a complete relaxation comes, as if your consciousness is travelling to other worlds and spaces... It is a sin to call Jean-Michel's work boring. It is diverse and deep - each work has its own character, a special magical haze, leads to completely different thoughts ... That's what, but "boredom" here certainly does not smell. It is not without reason that the great French maestro is an icon of his genre and a true living legend.
"Oxygene, Pt. 4"
It's most popular Jarre's track, which is familiar to both fans and people far from such works in general! "Oxygene, Pt. 4" was included on Jean-Michel's legendary third album with the succinct title "Oxygene", which stands for "Oxygen.". All tracks are of the same name, only numbered - from Part I to Part VI. And it was the fourth one that the audience liked especially...
The music video is aesthetic and minimalistic - everything is simple but tasteful. Remarkably, "Oxygene" was not just a success for Jarre, but a breakthrough album! The record was dubbed a bestseller, replete with "an astonishing combination of bubbling cosmic trills". It was a massive success and a major revolution in the development of electronic music.
"Magnetic Fields, Pt. 5"
This track (as well as the next one on our list) is well known to domestic music lovers.
"Notebook." - that's what the editors dubbed the piece. "Circumference.", releasing the track on flex vinyl in 1983.
"Magnetic Fields, Pt. 2."
"Magnetic Fields, Pt. 2," on the other hand, has received more "screaming" and the profound title - "Voice of the Mountains.".
This track was coming from everywhere - and on the radio, and on TV, and in all kinds of educational programmes! You could say that Jarre's electronic hit made a splash in the USSR "heat." The listeners loved this cosmic melody and its performer (Jean-Michel) as their own!
"Fourth Rendez-Vous"
A track from the fifth album "Rendez-Vous" ("Rendezvous."), which has sold out 3 million copies worldwide!
It was the record that stayed in the charts for the longest time - in the UK, for example, it stayed in the charts for a record-breaking period. 38 weeks.!
"Chronology, Pt. 4"
The track is from the album of the same name, which Jarre says was inspired by Stephen Hawking's book "A Brief History of Time.".
The accompanying visuals are very appropriate to the theme of the track (and the record as a whole, of course). A lot of colourful images bring interesting thoughts, make us think about things that we used to even never thought about…
"ALL THAT YOU LEAVE BEHIND (movement 4)"
Quite gloomybut it's a very appealing piece of work.
The track is surrounded by a unique haze, almost tinged with nuance mystics. And about halfway through, heavy motifs come into force, which seem to announce: something destructive is coming.....
"Eldorado."
"Gold Country." - is definitely a powerful track in our list. It has a special mood, rhythm, a feeling of some antiquity and mystery... Maybe all these motifs refer us to a fairy-tale South American valley full of untold riches?
Also. three tracksthat have an incredible, truly cosmic atmosphere.
"Rendez-Vous 4."
"Calypso, Pt. 3"
"Arpegiateur"
I would also like to make a special mention album "Amazônia"in which Maestro Jarre opened himself up to a new side of the audience.
This time the motives are not so cosmic - rather more down-to-earth, natural. You can't find a better record for relaxation! "Amazônia" gives a special peace of mind and helps to find harmony.
