Purrli - the first website for purrli: the story of the project and its creator Stephan Pigeon
Содержание
Most people love cats. Many famous artists were mature cat people! For example, John Lennon had about 20 fluffy cats in his life, and Freddie Mercury shared his home with stray cats, which as a result became media stars (there are enough photos of Queen vocalist and his moustached mates on the Internet).
Many people love these animals for their... purr. Well really - how can one remain indifferent to these cute creatures that warm us heartily with their "mrrrr".
Remarkably, cat purring has beneficial, even healing properties (if some sources are to be believed). И in today's world cat owners don't have to worry about having to say goodbye to their pets for long periods of time: a sound engineer from Belgium Stefan the Dude created a website Purrliwhich makes it possible to enjoy the cat's purr endlessly!
Purrli is the first website for purrli
Purrli - the first purr-fect website! Its creator, Stefan the DudeIn the end, they imitated the cat's purr electronically with the help of modern technology, thus giving millions of people the opportunity to enjoy their favourite "purr" whenever, wherever and as much as they want. The sound engineer himself did not expect his project to become so popular and, according to his own words, did not believe in it, considering the idea as a "purr". funny joke and nothing more. Here's what he said about it:
"I thought that electronic purrli would be nothing more than a joke! The idea seemed quite funny to me, but rather useless... And I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised by the comments from people who were delighted with Purrli. Well, I've never been so wrong before!"
Sound engineer from Belgium - short biography of Stéphane Pigeon
If the website is clear, then we move on to the next question - who is this guy? Stefan the Dude? Actually, not much is known about the Belgian sound engineer and, apparently, cat person. Born in December 1970 in Brussels, he studied and worked at the Telecommunications Laboratory until the late 90s. He has several major technology projectsin which he participated. He also has a PhD thesis in the field of multimodal human biometric authentication.
For a time Stephen was a researcher at the Royal Military Academy, and a consultant to the Roland CorporationHe's been working for a Japanese music equipment company. This is how his everyday life went by, in a mad stream of work, until the idea to create a website for purring came into Dude's head.
How to get to the site and how to set it up
To enjoy with an electronic purr (which sounds like the real thing), you don't need to register. It is enough just to go to the website purrli.com. and... voila! We can already hear the sweet purrrr... By the way: we can customise the purrrr to our own taste, which is said: there is a different modesand by means of adjustments we choose how happy, relaxed and so on our "potential" kitty will be.
This way, we can set the perfect purr for ourselves and enjoy it even when we are away from our favourite pet. Undeniable plus - You don't even have to feed anyone!
Stefan's other projects
Today Stefan Pigeon took a break from busy workdays in favour of own projects. He's released a few iOS apps, developed a couple of websites and more. Purrli - by no means his only project, but certainly his most successful and recognised. But the idea started as a joke.....
One of Stefan's other popular sites is. myNoise.netwhere we can enjoy various beautiful sounds like "Irish Coast" or "Rain in the Tent". Definitely worth a visit - at least for relaxation. This is the project that Dude spends all his time on today, and as we can see - not for nothing.
In his spare time, Stefan continues to work on behalf of the Roland Corporation. In his own words, he is interested in everything related to sound and its processing.
