Given that previous Marvel films have hinted at the fragility of the timeline, The Multiverse of Madness must be careful to provide plausible stakes, rather than vaguely gesturing to the potential end of time itself. Strange defends himself behind the scenes: "I did what I had to do to protect our world.". Nevertheless, it is clear that Strange has a lot to answer for. Let's hope that this inner conflict can cause some growth in the character.
