Childhood and first songs of Yury Klinskikh

The boy grew up in a family a Voronezh engineerbut he didn't stand out. Like all children, he studied at school and got average grades, neither worse nor better than the others. From childhood, the boy passionate about music: he listened to records and dreamed of learning to play on his own.

The parents did not send their son to music school. The only thing they were able to do to bring him closer to music was to buy him a guitar for my 14th birthday. From then on, young Yura never parted with it. He played it every day and sometimes even night, mastering the instrument according to his father's instructions and self-teaching.

Youth, army and the first works of Yuri Klinskikh

Klinskikh did not manage to immediately connect his life with music. After finishing school, he went to an ordinary job. Like his father, he went at the factory. Along the way, he studied for chauffeurand then, like everyone else, he joined the army.

On his return, he took a job at TRAFFIC POLICE. He was hired because he knew the rules of the road perfectly. The future punk music legend didn't want to become a chauffeur. But he didn't stay in the traffic police for long either. Too much conflicts was with the brass.

Yuri was writing out penalties He did not look at how expensive their cars were or who was driving them. He didn't care about rank or status. If you broke the law, you got a fine. He got a lot of trouble for that from superiorsbut he was true to himself. Even in the service with such superiors, he remained a human being.

Voronezh rock club 

At the same time he continued to sing and play guitar. He didn't take his work as something serious: he made music to relax after work. But also in 1981 tried to record the album on a tape recorder. He abandoned the idea for four years, and in 1985 tried again.

And out came "Acoustic album". Since 1987, when Voronezh was opened rock clubYuri became almost the most frequent guest there. First he performed with this album, and then he created more and more new songs. Here's what he said about it:

"I wrote my first poem at school, I remember something about spring. Then before the army I learnt to play the guitar and tried to do something. But the songs were primitive, about love, all sorts of little things. Then, when I came out of the army, I worked in a factory and didn't think about anything. When the rock club opened, I looked at amateur groups, I didn't like their poor themes, I remember they sang something about the world, about love, about something so incomprehensible. So I decided to shake up the old days. And since I already had some experience, I started to get pretty good at it. Everyone liked it, and that's how it went..."

Thus began the musical career of Yuri Klinskikh. For six months he performed alone, but he called himself "The gas sector". This nickname came about because of the neighbourhood in which the musician lived. The fact is that this was the name of the left-bank part of Voronezh, known for its unpleasant environmental situation.

Soon a few more musicians were added to it, but Klinskikh's band often changed. And he himself remained the "Gas Sector"....
