Over the years, concerts have been written into music history that have attracted an unimaginable number of fans - from Woodstock before the festival Live Aid 1985which brought together the leading stars of their era, including Queen, U2 and others. And yet: which artist belongs to whom? the biggest concert ever? A question to which we propose to find out the answer together ....
The Beatles' breakthrough and further records

Perhaps the breakthrough in the live concert industry was made by the iconic Liverpool Four: precisely "The Beatles." were the first to have a huge crowd at their show. This happened in August 1965, when the band played at the stadium Shea in New York: over 55,000 people came to see the pioneers of the British Invasion! That day the Beatles confirmed their position as the defining band of their generation. And then the world was gripped Beatlemania - But that's another story...
As time went on, more and more rock stars entered the arena, and due to increased technological and logistical capacity, the Beatles' record has since been significantly surpassed. So, for example, just four years later, in 1969, their direct rivals and good mates. The Rolling Stones played a concert in Hyde Park in front of an estimated audience of between 250,000 and 500,000 people!
Much of the excitement was due to the tragic death of the band's founder, Brian Joneswho had died two days earlier. It was one of the most beautiful and sensual live performances of the Rolling Stones, and, according to eyewitnesses, many audience members cried....

That same year, the iconic festival took place Woodstockthe main symbol of the Summer of Love, which drew people from all over the United States. 400,000 people! The main audience were hippies and young people, and therefore the festival was remembered not only for its scale, but also for the riots.
However, he gave the ticket to such now iconic and then very young rock stars as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Who. and many others. He has been written about to this day, and each time the public discovers some new fascinating events of those few days that took place in the open air on one of the farms of a town in rural Bethel, New York, USA...
The new decade, namely the 70s, was opened by another festival, no less significant for history, which overtook Woodstock almost twofold! It's about the festival on the Isle of Wightwhich attracted about 700,000 people! Imagine that!
It should be emphasised that the population of the island itself at that time was 100,000 people... It is not difficult to imagine the disorder caused by such a large gathering of people. The festival itself, by the way, lasted for several days, during which time it had the chance to perform Hendrix, The Doors, The Who. and others.
Two giants of the live stage

Meanwhile, the question of who owns the "crown" is still open. Perhaps the loudest and most box-office concert was the show of the French pioneer of electronics Jean-Michel Jarrewhich took place in Moscow in 1997 in honour of the 850th anniversary of the city.
It was an enchanting and amazing show that Muscovites will always remember! And yes: according to unofficial data, it was attended by 3.5 million people! A colossal figure that is even hard to imagine ....

But after researching various sources, we found that Jarre has a strong competitor for the title of artiste with the biggest concert in the history over my shoulders. And it was Rod Stewart.

On New Year's Eve 1994, Stuart made an appearance in Rio de Janeiro in front of 3.5 million! And some unofficial sources claim that there were 4.2 million people in total. This figure may well be true, but it is worth noting that some people just happened to be there because they came to watch the fireworks at midnight.
Three more iconic shows that millions have seen
And lastly, we would like to recall three more iconic concerts that we have attended millions of viewers!

The most significant festival for Russia at least remains the famous "Monsters of Rock."which took place in 1991 in Moscow. World stars such as Mötley Crüe, Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne attracted the attention of Russians. According to general estimates, the festival was attended by about 1.6 million people - an incredible figure!
After the success of Live Aid in 1985, the Live Aid festival has found a second life today: in 2005, the Live Aid Festival took place Live 8, a series of concerts that took place in the G8 countries and South Africa. According to some reports, more than one million people gathered in Philadelphia to see Linkin Park, Maroon 5, Bon Jovi and other idols in person!

A year later. The Rolling Stones gave it their all in Rio de Janeiro in front of a crowd of 1.5 million people!
