Содержание
Sheryl Crow's first time performed as a backup singer. Her work on Michael Jackson's Bad tour - much discussed, as was the false start of the 1992 album, which was prepared for release but then abruptly cancelled. The singer's story began the following year, 1993. Crowe's popularity was gaining momentum through relentless touring and writing songs that have served Crowe from that day to this day. The singer released her latest album Threads in 2019. She has released quite a few quality songs in her 17 years of creativity. In this rating, we have collected the 20 best, in our opinion, songs performed by Sheryl Crow.
20: "Tell Me When It's Over" (2019, with Chris Stapleton).
Truth be told, from the album "All-star Threads" we could highlight every track - the tracks on this record are perfect combine two distinctive voices. Country singer Chris Stapleton plays more of an occasional role in Cheryl's tracks, but the pieces with him are quite atmospheric and melodic.
19: "Sign Your Name" (2010, with Justin Timberlake)
Proof that successful co-operation is nothing new for Crowe, is the album "100 Miles From Memphis" with backing vocals by Justin Timberlake in 2018.
18: "What Can I Do For You" (1993)
"Tuesday Night Music" is one of the most striking debut albums of all time, named after the informal jam nights Crowe participated in while in California. Bill Bottrell's music is perfect blends with Crowe's voice in this song.
17: "Beware Of Darkness" (2019, with Eric Clapton, Sting and Brandi Carlile)
Another inspired remake from the Threads album, this time featuring no less than three of them major by the authors and Steve Jordan's insightful production. The guitar part was performed by Eric Clapton.
16: "Tomorrow Never Dies" (1997)
Confirming Crowe's status as one of the world's biggest stars is the offer to compose for Agent 007. The gloomy piece was co-written with its producer Mitchell Froom.
15: "Soak Up The Sun" (2002)
The first single from the fourth album, "Crow, C'mon C'mon," not only brought high sales for the record, but also the achieved No. 1 on the Billboard chart. Listen to the combination of Liz Phair and Sheryl Crow's vocals and watch the main character perform on a beach in Hawaii.
14: "The First Cut Is The Deepest" (2003)
Long before Threads, Crowe proved that even a career can be enhanced by a random but good one selected remake. When her album "Very Best Of" was released in 2003, this new version of the Cat Stevens song was particularly appealing to the public.
13: "Home" (1996)
This song can't be called one of the most renowned Crowe's compositions, but it was included on her eponymous second album, which she produced herself, successfully.
12: "Prove You Wrong" (2019, with Stevie Nicks and Maren Morris)
Another powerful trio recorded the opening single for the album "Threads," which unites both generations. The track was recorded by the queen of soft rock and one of the country's biggest new stars. Crowe, Nicks and Morris performed it ahead of the album's release at the 2019 CMT Music Awards in June 2019.
11: "Leaving Las Vegas" (1993)
Fourth single from the Tuesday Night Music Club album was another compelling narrative created by Crowe and producer Bottrell, co-written by fellow members David Baerwald, Brian McLeod, David Ricketts and Kevin Gilbert.
10: "Run Baby Run" (1993)
The first single of "Tuesday Night..." an album co-written by Crowe with Bottrell and Baerwald. The latter was a former member of David & David (along with Ricketts), who released the only and still noteworthy "Boomtown" album to be certified gold in 1986. "Run Baby Run" didn't make much of an impression the first time around, but was re-released in several countries after Crowe's rise to fame, finally reaching the UK Top 30 in 1995.
9: "Live Wire" (2019, with Mavis Staples and Bonnie Raitt)
This infectiously spontaneous highlight of the Threads record - another song that emphasises the great success of the album is that the guest artists are doing what they do best - music. In this case, that means Staples' gospel-soul mastery, Raitt's incomparable slide guitar and clean vocals.
8: "A Change Would Do You Good" (1996)
The track was co-written with Jeff Trott and Brian McLeod while the artists were visiting New Orleans. The single became ideal transitioning from "Live Wire" with hints of the main singers in their soulful, secular persona.
7: "Don't" (2019)
An unexpected collaboration perhaps, but this single has become one of the best songs Burt Bacharach has ever written. It's a rousing song highest quality, which once again shows how little Crowe has peers in terms of her variety of pop-rock creations.
6: "Strong Enough" (1993)
The album "Tuesday Night Music Club" was a record on which almost every track was a hit. Mature and introspective The track "Strong Enough" was liked by fans and pop critics alike, making it reach No. 5 on the U.S. chart and No. 1 in Canada.
5: "Everyday Is A Winding Road" (1996)
The track "Everyday Is A Winding Road" has become an integral part of almost every performance by Crowe. At the end of January 2020, the piece was her biggest hit when she performed to "Girls Just Wanna" at the Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The song reached number one on the US charts and became her third hit to reach the Top 10 of the UK charts.
4: "Redemption Day" (2019, with Johnny Cash)
Crowe wrote this anti-war work for his second album after travelling to Bosnia with Hillary Clinton. Cash recorded his interpretation for his sixth, posthumously released album, 2010's American VI: Ain't No Grave, with producer Rick Rubin.
3: "My Favorite Mistake" (1998)
Another one of Crowe's most popular songs, which was created during the prolific period of hit singles in the 90s. It's a sensual song that's often perform and now. The song itself was deservedly nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
2: "If It Makes You Happy" (1996)
Sheryl Crow's album has been praised for, among other things, the stunning sound of such tracks. Crowe wanted to perform the track "If It Makes You Happy" as a country song, but the presented to a rock-style listener, for which she achieved a Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance.
1: "All I Wanna Do" (1994)
The most melodic songs sometimes camouflage depressed mood. As Crowe put it:
Apathy and despair are masked in this light pop song, but it's about someone depressed, sitting in a bar watching their life go by.
