Record-breaking musical groups by number of members
Table of Contents
In the classical sense, if we're talking about rock bandIn the case of The Beatles or Queen (and there are many examples of this in general), there are five members: a vocalist, a bassist, a drummer, and lead and rhythm guitarists. There can also be four members, as in the case of The Beatles or Queen (and there are many examples). That's why when we talk about bands with, say, six or nine members, it seems a lot! But we have to surprise you: even 125 people in the lineup is not the limit.
The bands discussed below may not be rock bands. But their line-ups are amazing! They are veritable armies of musicians, united to bring their magical motifs to the world... What do the bands sound like? over 100 participantsand, most importantly, how they managed to "play together" (because often even four people can't get along within one project...). So: if you've ever wondered which band is the record-breaker in terms of the number of members, this article will be of interest to you....
Blood, Sweat & Tears

This American jazz band was founded in New York City in 1967. For many years. Blood, Sweat & Tears remained a leader of the jazz movement. Although only a handful of people remember her today, she sold millions of albums in her day and was also awarded two Grammy's. More than half of their albums held their place on the Billboard 200 in one way or another, with some songs like "Spinning Wheel." - are still relevant today!
Blood, Sweat & Tears has made it onto our list of record-breakers for its love of change in the line-up: so many members have passed through this band that it seems to be endless to read the whole list... After a while you can simply stop reading the list of names, because halfway through you will be confused! All in all, the history of this collective remembers approx. 125 ex-players. And Blood, Sweat & Tears was playing at the same time. about 10 people - is also a significant figure.
The Fall

The Fall - A very strong rival of Blood, Sweat & Tears with an equally impressive track record. It's hard to say exactly how many people have passed through this band, but the fact is that The Fall has a total of 57 line-upsthat says a lot.
The history of this band is as long as the list of its ex-members. It was founded in 1976 in Manchester. And, yes, The Fall lasted right up until up to 2018! Over the years the band has recorded and released dozens of albums and travelled all over America (and not only). Judging by the numbers on YouTube, The Fall's work is still in demand.
Parliament-Funkadelic

Parliament-Funkadelic - is a very special band on our list. It is probably the real record-breaker in terms of the number of participants - in total, the line-up includes P-Funk (the second name by which the project is known) was to 189 participants! All these people were divided into 23 different groups that formed as subdivisions of the collective.
It is difficult to explain the history and phenomenon of Parliament-Funkadelic in two words. It would probably take more than one article. But it is worth noting that this project, founded by George Clinton, had a tremendous impact on black music in 1970s America - and as a result, on modern pop culture as well.
Centipede
Centipede - Another interesting contender for the record title on our list. This British jazz-rock band is famous for uniting most of a generation of young British jazz and rock musicians from a number of bands. Together these guys travelled not only the Kingdom but also France, recording and releasing a fine (and the only one of their career) album "Septober Energy." over 80 minutes long (original version).
As you'd expect, Centipede is pretty quick disintegrated - the band lasted only a year. And yet it managed to take its place in the annals of history - albeit with quantity, not quality!
Rockin' 1000

Well, at the end of the article I would like to pay attention to the very unusual and a truly magnificent team, known today throughout the world as the Rockin' 1000. It's a group that includes ... yes, a thousand musicians! The idea of such an unusual project came to mind Fabio Zaffagnini. The band was formed to perform a cover of "Learn to Fly" Foo Fighters: in this way, Fabio wanted to lure Dave Grohl's team to come to Cesena and hold a concert.
The group was planned as overnight: an advert was published on the Internet - Fabio was inviting everyone to join his project. In the end, a sufficient number of people showed up. When a cover performance by a thousand musicians made its way onto the web, Foo Fighters were really impressed and visited Cesena! But the public was not left out either: everyone really enjoyed Rockin' 1000's performance and the guys were persuaded to continue their activities. Thus, Rockin' 1000 became musical heroes with a catalogue of great covers....
