Graduation and success

The record was recorded in 1967-мbut it didn't come out until February 1986 of the year. It showcases Hendrix's amazing skills as a guitarist, conveying to listeners his playful mood on stage. It is a true musical revelation, an explosion of emotion, and an amazing fusion of jazz and R&B. Critics received the album warmly, as did an enchanted audience. Some called it the epitome of "peace, love and selfishness in absolute manifestation", while others emphasised its historical weight. Of course, it was not without harsh criticism. Thus, in the American weekly "The Village Voice" the following note appeared:

"Jimi is incredibly anxious on this record, Mitch Mitchell stumbles every now and then, and 'Like a Rolling Stone' is the ultimate falsehood!"

Nevertheless, such statements in no way detract from the splendour of the "Jimi Plays Monterey".
