The new 2021 film The Exorcist's Apprentice (The Seventh Day) has a wide variety of soundtracks and songs that immerse the viewer in the atmosphere of the film. Christian faith and Catholicism go hand in hand with horror. The macabre iconography of faith has always fueled a chilling genre. Writer/director Justin P. Lange has studied his film series like The Exorcist, The Omen and The Sixth Sense well to master the visual mechanics. Religious and supernatural films look scary and at the same time attractive.

It all seems like a general list of recognizable images - a possessed child, priests and a ouija board. In the story, there is a rivalry between two priests. One is a seasoned fan of exorcism, the other is a beginner who is just learning. In the new film there is a hint of innovation, it is not about the devil, but about the figure who fights with him. Guy Pearce, whose initiation took place back in 1985.

Father Peter participated in an exorcism that day - and saw how the mentor, Father Louis (played by the always magnetic Keith David), was hit in the neck with a flying crucifix, after which Father Peter took over the exorcism. Pierce plays a new image: an exorcist as a hipster, walks with a beard, smokes, drives a motorcycle, singing rock. Demonic possession is on the rise across the country, and despite the Vatican's increasingly disapproving stance against exorcisms, someone has to deal with this mess.
