From the inspiration behind the songs to the whereabouts and tragic demise of some of the greatest rock stars of the 20th century, there are too many topics to ponder, tormenting genre devotees and mere gawkers who like to ponder such things.

The Lost Years of Syd Barrett

Sid Barrett has become an iconic figure not only in history. Pink Floydbut also rock in general. He saturated the sound and style of the band with psychedelic tones, and even after he was fired due to his unbridled passion for substances and complete loss of sense of reality, Sid continued to dominate the band's creativity. At first his solo career seemed promising, but something went wrong.....

In the '70s, Syd literally disappeared off the face of the Earth. Later, when the Floyd were recording "Wish You Were Here" ("I wish you were here"), he appeared at the sessions. Over the years, his appearance had undergone such enormous changes that the participants hardly recognised their former comrade. After this meeting Barrett disappeared again, and in 2006 he was gone. What happened to him during the following 30 years - remains a mystery to many. Fans sincerely hope that Sid did find the help he so desperately needed.

The passing of Brian Jones and Elliott Smith

Many rock stars left this world early in a way that didn't come naturally, but the deaths of some especially mysterious. Brian JonesThe Rolling Stones founder and talented multi-instrumentalist was found dead in his own swimming pool. The 27-year-old musician died just a month after being fired from the band, and his death still seems strange to the public to this day....

It is known that at the time Jones was going through a bad time and was addicted to alcohol, but many people refuse to believe that the death was accidental. There are many hypotheses - up to and including conspiracy theories! The most interesting thing is that many years later, people who were with Brian on that fateful day would come forward, ready to give supposedly some important information. But all of them tragically died before they could make their statement....

Another mysterious departure is the demise Elliott Smith. It struck many people, because at that time Smith was experiencing a surge in popularity - things were going uphill, the fan base was growing, as well as income. And then he gets stabbed in the chest. Allegedly it was deliberate, and there was even a note (it is difficult to say whether it was written by Smith himself).

It is known that shortly before the incident, the musician had a fight with his girlfriend, but according to Jennifer herself - they are both cooled down by the time she got into the shower. The girl also said that while in the bathroom she heard some noise on the ground floor of the house.....

Eddie Vedder's source of inspiration

Often fans puzzle over the meaning of a song and wonder who or what inspired the idol to write it. But in the case of "Black" Pearl Jam all these reflections are hopeless and meaningless: to discover an object that has so strongly impressed the Eddie Vedderhas failed so far.

"So what?" - you ask. The thing is, this song incredibly personal for Vedder: he even asked his fans not to sing this song! And when journalists asked Eddie about it, he got mad and sharply avoided the question.

The stolen Green Day album

"Cigarettes and Valentines." - Green Day album, which was never released. When the band started mixing, they were surprised to discover that all the master recordings had mysteriously been disappeared!

Such a blow should have been a crushing blow for any band, but the failure made the American rockers turn their backs on what they were doing and try to aim for even bigger things. And it was during this period in their minds Billy Joe Armstrong the seeds of American Idiot were sown.

How exactly the master recordings disappeared is still a mystery.

Richie Edwards' whereabouts

We know many stories of rock stars dying tragically. But for them disappeared…

Richie Edwards mysteriously disappeared in 1995. There was an investigation, a search. But nothing but the musician's car could be found. There are a lot of hypotheses as to what really happened to Ritchie: some are sure that the musician jumped from a bridge, others - that he simply ran away. Whatever the case may be, Edwards has repeatedly stated that under no circumstances he would not do anything to himself. There is also a legend that Ritchie was seen in a commune hippies in Goa. In any case - all these are just rumours, and no one has ever seen the musician himself.
