The behind-the-scenes stories of the film The Joker (2019)
- Actor Joaquin Phoenix, working on the character of Arthur Fleck, studied the movements of actors in Buster Keaton's silent films.
- For the film, Phoenix was on a strict diet, which forced him to lose 23.6 kilograms. He was assisted by the same nutritionist he worked with on the set of the 2012 film The Master.
- The scene with the Joker dancing in the bathroom was not in the script, but it happened spontaneously and was then saved in the final edit.
- Many scenes are improvised. The text was constantly changing, and Todd Phillips himself confirmed that Sophie was a character that was constantly changing during the making of the film.
- The stairs from the memorable scene have become a new New York City attraction for many visitors. Many fans of the film now head to 1165 Shakespeare Avenue in the Bronx to photograph these steps mimicking the Joker.
- The military building in Brooklyn that served as Arkham Sanitarium in the film is also a fan attraction.
- The Joker's make-up resembles that worn by John Wayne Gacy, a serial killer accused of kidnapping, torturing and murdering 33 victims between 1972 and 1978.
- Contrary to the usual methods of film making, Todd Phillips asked Hildur Gudnadottir to write music for the film based on the script.

- Phoenix said he was not influenced by previous Jokers, meaning actors Heath Ledger, Jack Nicholson, Cesar Romero and Jared Leto.
- Vigo Mortensen and Alec Baldwin declined to play the character of Thomas Wayne in this film.
- The most surprising thing about this film is that at the beginning of production, the favourite for the lead role was Leonardo DiCaprio.
- Joaquin Phoenix and previous Joker Heath Ledger were close friends.
