"Tu-lu-la", "Heat", "40000 km" - how the album "Dreams" was created (Chicherina)
Содержание
In the early 2000s, the Russian band Chicherina was incredibly popular, and all thanks to the album "Dreams"! Despite the fact that the record was a debut for the band, some songs from it became timeless hits! Thus, the compositions "Heat" and "Tu-lu-la" completed the hot ten summer hits! And the music videos shot for them (as well as for the song "Leaving, Leave") broke all records of Muz-TV channel!
History of Creation
To begin with, we suggest to recall a brief history of the band itself. The Chicherina collective was formed back in 1997 in Yekaterinburg! But... until the release of the album "Dreams" it had never managed to achieve success.
The band members met at the local club "J-22", where each of them worked at different positions. Actually, the guys performed there until 1998. After the club was closed, they started touring to different parts of Russia...
Gradually, the band's music penetrated local radio stations... The director of one of them liked the demo recording of "Forty Thousand Kilometres" so much that he gave it to Mikhail Kozyrev, a famous music critic, to listen to! Soon the track became a hit on the radio he headed, and was also included in the compilation "Nashestviye. Step 1".
Having noticed the guys, Real records company offered them a contract! In autumn 1999 the band moved to Moscow. After a couple of concerts, Chicherina started rehearsing and recording the album!
So, by the summer of 2000 the band recorded their first, but surprisingly successful album "Dreams".
In July of the same year, on the occasion of the record release, a concert was organised on Pushkinskaya Square! The organiser was Real Records.
Music videos
In April 2000, the music video for the song "Tu-lu-la" was presented in one of the capital's clubs. Timur Bekmambetov became the director. By the way: co-operation with Chicherina was his first experience in the sphere of clipmaking!
Many viewers know the song "Tu-lu-la" from the film "Brat-2". The composition plays in the episode when Bodrov Jr.'s character comes out of the police station.
The shooting of the video "Heat" took place in an abandoned house on the embankment of Obvodny Channel, and also not far from St Isaac's Cathedral.
The most interesting work of Timur Bekmambetov can be justifiably called the music video for the song "Leaving, Leave". During the whole video you will never see the band, because none of the guys took part in the filming! Instead, we can see city views and the "picturesqueness" of Russian hospitals...
The video turned out to be so extraordinary that even the band members themselves did not count on its rotation on the central channels!
