The song "New Thang" was released in 2014. The composition belongs to American musician Redfoo, a former member of LMFAO (the duo finished performing in 2012). Redfoo is a singer, DJ and dancer. He has had a solo career since 2013. New Thang is the first single from his debut album, Party Rock Mansion. Upon release, the song reached number 3 on the Australian charts.

The music video for the song "New Thang" was released on 24 August 2014 on Redfoo's YouTube channel. The music video was filmed in Santa Clarita. It starred beautiful girls in bright neon colours and Sergio Flores, a sexy shirtless saxophonist.

Redfoo spoke out about the clip:

"It'll have a bit of humour and a lot of sexiness in it as usual. You know I'm not curing cancer... But what I do... I do my best to spread happiness as an artiste. I want people to feel good about themselves."

The lead single from Redfoo's debut studio album Party Rock Mansion was a big hit Down Under, reaching number 3 in both Australia and New Zealand.

Redfoo explained the meaning of the AT40 song:

"New Thing is a song about a period of time when you break up with someone. I broke up with a girl, and I went back to hunting. Now I'm back on the hunt. And I wanted to let the ladies know that you could be my new 'thing'. And it's just an expression of affection."
